Real Anime Situation! 2 (also known as Real Hentai Situation! 2 and Real Eroge Situation! 2) is a four-route visual novel by Jitaku Studio. It’s very much focused on the sexual content, constantly placing its protagonist in ‘hentai situations’.
While this is technically a sequel, the original title has not been localized into English. Fortunately, while it does occasionally refer to the original, you don’t need to have played Real Eroge Situation! to play Real Hentai Situation! 2.
The Dirty Diary
Tooru is a pervert. He’s never so much as touched a girl, but he has an extremely vivid imagination that can dream up all sorts of situations. To release his sexual tension, he uses his hand to write these situations all down in a secret ‘diary’, rather than the more typical method.
Aside from this little quirk, his days pass by normally. His energetic friend Nao comes to wake him up and teases him with innuendos. He studies in a rather lively class filled with some interesting characters. Occasionally he helps out in the cafe where he lives.
These peaceful days end when he walks in on his classmate Chikage masturbating to his diary.
This incident sparks a war between Nao and Chikage, both aiming to steal Tooru’s heart (and cock) for themselves. Not long after, they’re joined by his childhood friend Rino who introduces herself by jumping Tooru in the bathroom while naked. They decide to use the diary as a reference and act out hentai situations with Tooru to try and make them choose him. Only actual sex is off-limits, but everything else is fair game in their fight.
3+1 Heroines
Tooru is a pervert, but he’s not the only one. We soon find out that the heroines of Real Anime Situation! 2 are more or less the same, even if they express it differently.
Nao is perhaps the closest to normal. She initially comes across as just a huge tease, but it’s soon revealed that she never stopped at just teasing. She’s all too willing to jump the protagonist and join in on the fun. Nao comes off as genuinely loving Tooru from the start, but there’s a concern that she may not accept his more extreme fetishes as the closest to being a ‘normie’. I didn’t find her route particularly memorable other than one issue that popped up (which was quickly resolved).
Chikage is perhaps even more of a pervert than Tooru, actively seeking out more depraved acts. She’s a hentai manga artist and wants to use Tooru for inspiration. She likes Tooru, but sex seems to be her primary focus; the topic of sex versus romance is one of the more interesting parts of her route.
The third heroine Rino is more of a subtle pervert. She at least tries to appear to be normal in some ways. She’s like an unstoppable force, having moved to reunite with her childhood friend and seduce him. In terms of story, her route did feel a little bland since I’ve seen similar ideas multiple times before, and aspects were even echoed in the other routes here.
The fourth heroine is hidden at first, only becoming available on subsequent playthroughs. She’s perhaps less of an outright pervert and provides a more caring experience, which was a nice contrast. Her route did come as a surprise and I enjoyed seeing her shy moments, which was a large departure from the other heroines. Our guide/walkthrough lets you know more about how to unlock her.
Thin Book
The story of Real Anime Situation! 2 is rather underwhelming as a whole. Admittedly, if you’re playing a game known as Real Hentai Situation! 2, you’re probably not here for the plot.
Despite this, there are some nice moments. Outside of the adult scenes, there’s a good amount of comedic slice-of-life moments, if with a heavy slant toward adult comedy and sex, references. Replacing the typical perverted male friend with an even more perverted lesbian, with who Tooru casually discusses the merits of incest or other such topics, made for some funny moments. Some of my favorite parts were chats with the energetic and airheaded ‘class pet’ Nanako who switches personalities (and voices) mid-conversation.
The interactions between the three main heroines were always amusing. I did appreciate that they were shown to become friends as well as rivals, genuinely offering each other support as soon as they’d show their willingness to steal Tooru away. I particularly liked Rino and Chikage’s relationship, as Rino is shown to not be able to deal with her which often leads Rino to frustration. This brings out her tsundere side that she never shows elsewhere.
More serious moments were few and far between, but I did appreciate when themes of acceptance by others were handled gently. The few adults in the story were often there to offer counsel, despite their own issues, and there were some nice moments here. Though scenes like this can be quickly followed by scenes such as Nao’s mother offering a mother-daughter threesome, which sadly never comes to pass. (Not to say that nothing happens with her…)
Nukige Time
Real Anime Situation! 2 throws out so many H scenes that I found it overwhelming. At some points, every other scene is an adult one. This is not necessarily a bad thing if you know what you’re signing up for, but it might be better to play this one over a long time. It has massive 54 H scenes (slightly less if you count the split ones as only one), with the main heroines having 15 each, not counting shared ones. Mosaics censorship is retained as always for Shiravune.
The sheer variety of the H scenes is a huge strength of Real Anime Situation! 2. The alternate name of Real Hentai Situation! 2 is far more apt. It ranges from the mostly standard vanilla scenes to BDSM, glory holes, and more. As an example, one of the heroines pees on Tooru during their first encounter. Dirty talk is a common occurrence too, though this does occasionally veer into comedic territory rather than sexy. I did get a laugh when “wanting it not just in your heart of hearts, but your cock of cocks” was said. It can get quite extreme too at times and the writing in these scenes was genuinely good.
10 of the scenes have partial animation which is a nice addition. I didn’t feel like it improved things much, but it did work particularly well in a few of the scenes.
The common route has scenes with all of the heroines (and more). Your choices actually do matter at times here, with alternate H scenes before the route split that depend on your choices. Again, our guide/walkthrough will help you to find them all.
Unsurprisingly considering the title, the hentai aspect is the strongest in this visual novel and it absolutely delivers in this regard.
Audiovisual
Real Anime Situation! 2 has a lot of CGs at a count of 73, but unsurprisingly the vast majority of them are adult ones. They look fairly good, but nothing stood out to me too much here outside of the use of animation and the sheer amount for a 17-hour visual novel. The SD/chibi ones were pretty cute I suppose. The background music is okay too, not standing out as good or bad.
The voicing was great overall, with voice actresses pulling off great performances that fit their characters well. I’ll mention Mitaka Rin who played the side character Nanako again here, who flipped between a bubbly airhead and dramatic deep voice quickly.
Unfortunately, there was a little technical issue here. Some of the lines seem to have too much delay. In particular, Hibaru, Miru, and Rino’s lines were occasionally delayed up to 1.5 seconds after the click, while others played almost immediately. It sometimes creates an inconsistent feeling and feels slightly off when their movement begins, and then it plays the line a beat later. I’d often finished reading the line before it even started.
Verdict
Real Anime Situation! 2 lives up to the title of Real Hentai Situation! 2. As long as that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll find it, albeit with a few issues along the way. The comedy helps to keep it light despite some of the more extreme acts on display, and you’re not coming here for the plot anyway.
