Visual Novel fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of Monkeys!¡ in English and Chinese since their announcement in late 2021. Four years later, the developer Harukaze hasn’t mentioned it since.
Some began to suspect that it may have been cancelled. It has been quite a long time since any public announcement was made on it, and there have been no social media posts on their X (Twitter) account since early 2022 or their blog since 2021.
We recently reached out to the developer to ask them about the English translation. They confirmed that as of October 3rd, 2025, it’s still ongoing and hasn’t been cancelled with the translation work described as being still in progress. However, they have no further information regarding a release date and no information has been revealed about other languages, availability of an 18+ patch, or whether they’re working with a publisher.
While this is only a small tidbit of news, it’s a welcome confirmation that Harukaze is still working on the international release of Monkeys!¡.
Saruyoshi, a delinquent protagonist at an all-boys school, must save his beloved alma mater from the brink of closure. To do so, he enrolls in a prestigious girls’ academy under the name “Julia.”
In the town next to Sarukichi’s school stands Garasunomiya Girls’ Academy. With a history stretching back to the Taisho era, it remains an elite institution for the daughters of distinguished families.
Learning that merging with this “ultra-elite girls’ school” is the only way for his own school to survive, Saruyoshi gets help from a high-class student, Karasu Tsukishima. To protect the school where he made countless memories with his friends, he goes undercover alone at the girls’ academy, tasked with improving the reputation of boys.
As the protagonist uses his delinquent strengths to their fullest to solve the girls’ problems, the sheltered young ladies find themselves slowly falling for him! Meanwhile, as Saruyoshi becomes more and more convincing as a proper lady, his male friends are on the edge of their seats!?
Set in an elite all-girls academy, this is a slapstick romantic comedy about the journey towards mutual understanding between men and women!
